＃旅人日記：當池上遇見加州陽光 🌞

上週來一位來自美國的旅人Trini。她因朋友在新竹的婚禮而第一次踏上台灣土地。

婚禮結束之後獨自展開四天的池上小旅行。很巧地，她抵達時，池上正迎來入冬以來最強的一波東北季風。天氣冷颼颼的，但她絲毫沒被天氣影響，依舊開心地騎車、逛夜市、上菜市場，把池上過得非常「在地」。

她來的第二天正好是我參加的最後一堂書法課。我隨口問她是否想體驗，她毫不猶豫答應了。沒想到——
這是她人生第一次寫中文、第一次拿毛筆、第一次接觸書法。她很有天份，寫得很好！筆勢流暢、有架式，書法班的同學們都紛紛誇她很有天份。我只是簡單示範，她就立刻抓到節奏。

更有趣的是，她才寫幾個字，就突然問我：「love 的中文字怎麼寫？」
我面有難色地說：「呃…那筆畫很多，很難耶…」
她馬上笑回：「啊，愛本來就很難啊！」
我們相視笑了。 💕

最後我還是寫給她看，她依樣畫葫蘆，而且將「愛」寫得有模有樣。看著她專注又開心的神情，我也感到快樂。她寫了好多張春聯紙，說要帶回美國送給父母和朋友。

後來我推薦她到附近的小咖啡酒吧 #山凹，她也非常喜歡，還在那裡交到新朋友。她離開前對我說：「徐徐。蒲公英，就是我心中理想的民宿。」收到這樣的話，真的覺得這份”工作”每天都有值得珍惜的理由。

“I booked my stay based on the reviews and they did not disappoint. I felt right at home and staying with Hsu was like visiting friends or relatives. It was exactly the kind of homestay experience I was looking to have in a small town. She was helpful, kind, generous, fun and curious - just the kind of host you dream of having. She offered to take me to her calligraphy class and it was my first time ever, something I’d been wanting to do for awhile and I had so much fun! She also introduced me to her friend who owns the bar Shaoan down the street and they were also the loveliest people. The location was easily accessible to everything you needed, and the bike was an added bonus to explore the beautiful landscape on two wheels. Overall I had exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for and will happily return again one day! Thanks for everything Hsu, I highly recommend staying for the warm hospitality and friendship!”
